I worked my last shift at Misty Mountain on Wednesday. It was weird. The end of an era in more ways than one.
When you work in the cannabis industry, the joke is, “It’s cannabis, wait 2 weeks and it'll all change,” and I definitely know that. Well. 2 weeks ago we were informed that we didn't have any money as a company and therefore couldn't renew our licenses for any of the three stores. Originally we were given false hope that we'd reopen in 1-2 weeks. 2 days later we were told the closure is permanent, thanks for our work. 🙄
I know everyone talked massive amounts of shit about the other places that closed in town without warning, but honestly, after this last week, I can see why. A majority of our customers were absolutely awful. They screamed at staff, belittled us, threatened us, were rude and disrespectful as fuck, and just generally impatient, rude, and awful. I had people scream in my face, get in my face and try to intimidate me, and even attempt to come over the counter at me outraged I couldn't give him 10% off veteran's discount on top of the discount that made it a $15 half in the first place. 😒 The fuck is wrong with you people.
Anyway, that's why we stopped sales Sunday. So Monday and Wednesday I just got to inventory and pack up everything and so that ended my time with Misty.
Though the business from a HQ standpoint was a shitshow (clearly), the few of us that lasted to the end are people that I love dearly and can't wait for the other adventures we have in store together, even when the Misty chapter is over.
And with that, The Joint Committee is now in session.
